Summer holiday in Melbourne, 2015

I filmed this short video by my Samsung S5 smartphone at Melbourne in January 2015. Why I was there? work? filming wedding videos? I was going there with my family, three of us, driving around, enjoying our time. I wish I can go there at least once a year.

Melbourne is one of the best cities in the world, no doubt!! In my point of view, as a tourist and a guy who lives in Sydney, I found Melbourne is so lovely in every aspect. People, food, transportation, tennis, beaches (not the weather though, Sydney is slightly better :-))…

I set my phone in slow mo. It turned out really cool (I reckon). Enjoy.

World Heritage Exhibit Built with Lego Brick

Okay, this isn’t related to wedding or videography or filming whatsoever, but it’s a fantastic exhibition that I recently been to. I only captured few photos as my camera was running out of battery on that day. I found this exhibition in a kind of Westfield shopping mall in Hong Kong when I was going to buy some breads for breakfast. Enjoy.

My gears

Here a list of my basic gears.

DSLR: Canon 5D Mark II. Still love this camera, although 5D Mark III is my next target.

Lenses: Carl Zeiss 50mm 1.4, Canon 70-200 f2.8IS, Canon 16-35 F2.8, these cover most of the range. My next target: 100mm macro.

Tripod: Gitzo basalt GT2940LVL, not top of the range but very solid and not too heavy to carry.

Monopod: Manfrotto 561BHDV. 80% of the time my DSLR is attached to this excellent monopod. I did try to use a handheld rig to film weddings, but it just doesn’t work for my shooting style.

Stabilizer: Glidecam HD2000, perfect match of 5D Mark II.

On camera mic: Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro, good quality, tiny, and made in Australia!!

More wedding video productions of mine can be found in Sunny Siu Videography – a wedding videographer in Sydney.
